1) Where are Voter Power clinics located?  [Back to Top]
Voter Power operates clinics in Portland, Eugene, Medford and Roseberg. Please see our Locations page for contact information.

2) Do I need an appointment?  [Back to Top]
Yes.  Please see the calendar for times and locations.

3) What do I need to bring?  [Back to Top]
Patients must contact our offices and speak with the clinic scheduling staff. The will confidentially discuss your medical condition and history to determine if you might qualify for the Oregon Medical Marijuana Program. Detailed medical records showing that you have been diagnosed with a debilitation condition as listed in ORG 475.302(2) are required for this process. Our clinic staff will explain exactly what records are required and will help you obtain them if needed.

4) What is the cost of the clinic?  [Back to Top]
First time patients pay $225.00 and renewals pay $200

New Patient

$225

Renewal Patient

$200

5) What is the clinic process?  How does it work?  [Back to Top]
After you have been pre-screened by clinic staff you will have an appointment scheduled. The clinic appointment is a long multi-step process. It consists of:

  • Check-in (Fill out application forms)
  • Orientation (Detailed presentation about the medical, scientific, legal, political and other aspects of medical marijuana)
  • Examination by Physician
  • Check-out (Review application for completeness)

6) What if I do not qualify?  [Back to Top]
Our clinic staff will make every effort to determine whether you qualify before scheduling your appointment. If we determine that you do not qualify before your examination, then there will be no charge. Once you have gone through orientation and have been examined by our doctors you are liable for the full clinic cost.

7) Do I automatically qualify if I have one of the conditions listed in the law?  [Back to Top]
No. There are some situations where our doctors determine that the use of medical marijuana is contraindicated. For example, if you have a history of substance abuse or mental illness our physician will discuss the risks and benefits and make their evaluation based on your medical history and their examination.

8) Is medical marijuana a cure-all?  [Back to Top]
No. Medical marijuana is a helpful treatment for many conditions. It has analgesic (pain relief), anti-emetic (eases nausea) and other properties that help many conditions. However it clearly does not cure many diseases or conditions. It is important for patients with severe pain to have an accurate diagnosis of their own pain before relying on medical marijuana as a treatment because masking the pain could delay treatment that could cure the condition.

9) What do I do after I qualify?  [Back to Top]
Voter Power provides follow-up services for patients to deal with the complex situation they face. We offer classes on a variety of subjects and we offer counseling where we assist patients individually.
