Voter Power opposes Initiative 131, which would
recriminalize medical marijuana in Oregon.
This initiative, named the "'Oregon Crimefighting Act," by chief petitioner
Kevin Mannix is proposed for the November 2008 ballot. The repeal of the Oregon Medical Marijuana
Act is one of 15 different "crime" proposals contained in the measure. Initiative
131 would replace OMMA with a synthetic cannabinoid prescription program where
taxpayers would subsidize patients' Marinol if their insurance didn't cover the
cost.
